In 2009, NJ adopted the Lifeline Law, which allows minors to summon medical assistance for intoxicated underage persons without being prosecuted for underage drinking. Under the law, the minor who contacts 911 must be the first to report the incident and must provide their names to the 911 operator. Additionally, the minor must remain on the scene and cooperate with law enforcement and medical responders. Click the image to find out more about the Overdose Prevention Act.
