The mission of the coalition is to reduce youth substance abuse in Hudson County, New Jersey.
Hudson County Coalition for a Drug-Free Community (HCCDFC) is an active group of professionals ranging from civic/volunteer groups, businesses, faith-based organizations, government, health care, law enforcement, media, parents, prevention/ recovery community, schools, youth and youth-serving organizations.
The Coalition uses strategies that affect large segments of the population such as:
- Policy Change - advocating laws or ordinances to decrease substance use in the community, state, and/or nation
- Providing Education - Media campaigns, press releases and trainings
- Community Advocacy - Asking the police to enforce alcohol laws
